On October 9th, 2018, An Giang University held a training workshop on Quality Assurance based on AUN-QA Standards and Evaluation of Staff Capacity based on KPIs led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Minh – Chief Assessor and Member of AUN-QA Committee, former Vice Rector and Chair of Quality Assurance Committee of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
Attending the workshop were Rector Board of An Giang University and over 100 staff including Heads at Department levels and above, members of the Quality Assurance Committee, Secretary Board and other staff involved in quality assurance, staff classification, and rewarding policies.
The two-day workshop focused on quality assurance based on AUN-QA standards, evaluation of staff capacity based on KPIs, and methods to evaluate staff. The workshop was to prepare the school staff for quality assurance based on AUN-QA standards at program levels and to harmonise the standards for education accreditation at regional level. The attendants were instructed on assessment methods for quality assurance based on AUN-QA standards, the strengths and weaknesses of universities in Vietnam when implementing AUN-QA, and methods to implement AUN-QA. The workshop also provided information on how to design methods to evaluate, recruit, and develop school staff including general information about KPIs, evaluation system based on KPIs, staff key competences, standards to evaluate staff performance in accordance with the school’s strategic development, and application of the standards into staff recruitment, evaluation, and development.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Thang – Rector of An Giang University thanked Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Minh and hoped that the staff would acquire the knowledge for quality assurance based on AUN-QA for the development of An Giang University in this globalisation period.
