The Science Council of An Giang University accepted the scientific research project “ Developing the protocol of processing freshwater crab (Somanniathelphusa Germaini) soup and canned freshwater crab meat ” by PhD Nguyen Duy Tan - Deputy Head of Agriculture & Natural Resources Faculty as the topic manager, and M.A. Vo Thi Xuan Tuyen - lecture of Department of Plant Science as a member.

The research’s objective is to build the laboratory-scale manufacturing process of freshwater crab and and canned freshwater crab meat with high nutritional value and safe microbiological criteria in accordance with the Ministry of Health Decision No. 46 / QD-BYT, and consumer’s  acceptance.
The Science Council highly appreciated the significance of the project. The results of the project helps to diversify the products from canned crab meat, to increase the value of rice – crab. Also, the project is a practical scientific document for the learning and research of lecturers, students of An Giang University, and researchers.
As for the voting results of the Council, the project obtained 89/100 points .
