On the morning of December 26, An Giang University, VNU-HCM, had a meeting with the delegation of Seoul National University, Korea.
The meeting aimed to create favorable conditions for the representatives of the two universities to discuss and exchange information on the agriculture-related Higher Education Cooperation Project between AGU, VNU-HCM, and Seoul National University. This was also an opportunity for cooperation, helping to improve the capacity of training and scientific research and technology transfer in the agricultural field at AGU.
Attending the meeting were Prof. Su Jung Choi - Head of Project Management Board and many professors and students of Seoul National University, Dr. Le Thanh Long - Head of Foreign Affairs and Project Development (VNU-HCM), Assoc. Prof. Vo Van Thang - Rector of AGU, and many lecturers of the Faculty of Agriculture - Natural Resources, and representatives of other departments of AGU.




At the meeting, Prof. Su Jung Choi introduced an overview of Seoul National University and presented specific goals, implementation contents as well as instructions on procedures and stages of the Project. In particular, the Professor stated the orientations of the Project in 10 years of implementation (starting from 2021), which focused on such areas as Fostering agricultural teaching and research capacity for lecturers through scholarships; improving training programs (especially postgraduate programs), supporting the opening of new disciplines, implementing programs of exchanging lecturers and students; organizing short-term or long-term training programs for the University's administrative staff; improving research activities; building links between universities and businesses; ...
Speaking at the reception, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Thang clearly stated the development orientation of AGU, emphasizing the potentials and advantages in research and technology transfer when the university has become a member of VNU-HCM; He also affirmed that the agriculture-related Higher Education Cooperation Project would be a good cooperation opportunity and make important contributions to the development of the University.


On December 26 and 27, the Seoul National University delegation visited different departments of AGU and conducted interviews with students and alumni of the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
