An Giang University, VNU-HCM participated in the 2023 International Rice Festival of Vietnam

Held from December 11th to December 15th, 2023, in Hau Giang, the festival, themed "Centennial Journey of Vietnamese Rice," was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in collaboration with Hau Giang Province.

This event served as a platform for An Giang University to enhance collaborative efforts in scientific research, technology transfer, and the commercialization of research results. It also aligned with the broader scientific and technological development strategy of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh and the specific goals of An Giang University.

During the festival, An Giang University showcased rice products and research findings, presenting four key reports on rice-related topics:

1)    Research on conserving and developing flood-resistant rice for climate change adaptation in the upper Mekong Delta.

2)    Smart tools supporting optimal solutions for rice cultivation.

3)    The role of agricultural cooperatives in the rice value chain in An Giang Province.

4)    The significance of post-harvest technology and rice quality assessment in developing high-quality rice in the Mekong Delta.

Furthermore, An Giang University engaged in discussions with Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, central and local leaders, and scientists from various institutions. The university aimed to guide future research collaborations and international publications. Anticipating substantial opportunities, An Giang University looks forward to contributing to the government-approved sustainable development project, "One million hectares of high-quality rice cultivation with low emissions, promoting green growth in the Mekong Delta by 2030."
