Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh visited AGU and donated 150 books from Read Japan Project

On March 24, Assoc. Prof. Dr Vo Van Thang - Rector of AGU welcomed the Consulate General of Japan. He was glad to welcome the delegation to work with AGU. The Rector presented some activities that AGU and Japanese universities have cooperated in recent years such as signing the memorandums of understanding (MOU) with 9 Japanese organizations and universities, and AGU also received funding for 6 research projects from Japanese universities. Mr Vo Van Thang looked forward to strengthening the corporation relationship between AGU and Japanese universities and enterprises.

The consulate general of Japan, Mr Watanabe Nobuhiro, cherished the cooperation results between the AGU, Japanese universities and enterprises. He donated 150 books from the "Read Japan Project" to AGU. The project aimed to increase the understanding of Japan, it was implemented by The Nippon Foundation and the Japan Science Association since 2008. Over the past 10 years, the program has donated books to more than 1,000 libraries, research institutes, and universities worldwide.
The program was an opportunity to enhance the relationship between the 2 countries; it also was a milestone of 55 years of diplomacy between Japan and Vietnam in 2023.
The donated books includes a mix of genres such as history, geography, and traditional art. These are all the practical information to help lecturers and students having a better understanding of Japanese people and culture.
