Online signing ceremony with Sorsogon State University, Philippines

On February 16, 2024, An Giang University, Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh city signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for academic cooperation with Sorsogon State University, Philippines. The signing ceremony took place online.

In attendance at the signing ceremony, representing An Giang University were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Võ Văn Thắng – President, along with representatives of unit leaders.

On the side of Sorsogon State University, Philippines, the representatives present at the signing ceremony included: Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus - President III; Dr. Jhonner D. Ricafort – Vice President of Academic; Dr. Vivien L. Chua - Head of International Relations; Prof. M.A. Elena C. Demdam – Director of Bulan Campus and the representatives of unit leaders.

The two universities have signed an MOU that encompasses various key activities. These include organizing student and lecturer exchange programs, conducting joint research activities, and exchanging publications, reports, and other academic and library resource materials. Additionally, the MOU involves the development of joint degree programs, support for internships and sabbaticals, as well as the sharing of other activities and programs in areas of mutual interest. Such collaboration is intended to benefit both parties.

At the signing ceremony, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus - President III highly appreciated the achievements and educational training of An Giang University. By signing an MOU with An Giang University, she expressed her belief that both parties will continue to thrive and develop even further.

On behalf of An Giang University, President Vo Van Thang expressed joy regarding the collaboration between the two universities. He also extended gratitude and good health wishes to the lecturers of Sorsogon State University, Philippines.

In the near future, An Giang University will welcome students from Sorsogon State University, Philippines, for English teaching internships. Additionally, the Faculty of Foreign Languages hopes to expand exchanges between lecturers and support English teaching for An Giang University students.
