Opening Ceremony of the Online-Based Student Exchange Program with Medan Area University (Indonesia)
Recently, An Giang University (AGU) held the Opening Ceremony of the Online-Based Student Exchange Program for students of Medan Area University (MAU) (Indonesia) at An Giang University.
This Program aimed to help students of MAU access and experience the teaching environment at AGU; acquire communication and critical thinking skills, especially in the field of agriculture, through study and discussion sessions with lecturers of AGU as well as expand their knowledge in future farm technology and sustainability in agriculture.
Students participating in the program are assessed not only on their academic results but also on their behaviors (attitudes) as well as their personal development skills like students of AGU.
The program will provide the students with knowledge of a number of courses such as Advanced plant breeding technology, Rice production technology, Water use management, Plant tissue culture and AI in agriculture which will be taught by lecturers from the Faculty of Agriculture - Natural Resources, Faculty of Information Technology and Faculty of Engineering - Technology – Environment of AGU.
Assoc. Prof. Vo Van Thang - President of AGU thanked the Rector Board of MAU for their support and efforts in expanding the international network through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with AGU as well as organizing this online-based student exchange program. He hoped that students of MAU would have good interactions with AGU’s lecturers, enjoy their study and make the most of this learning opportunity. He also expressed his hope that the COVID-19 pandemic would soon be controlled and AGU could welcome all distinguished guests and students of MAU to AGU.
At the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Huu Tri - Head of External Relations Office briefly introduced the content and the number of lecturers and students participating in the program. Mr. Ifan Aulia Candra – a representative of MAU presented the main content and the purpose of the program, the process of preparing for the program, selecting and interviewing the students as well as the mechanism of coordination and implementation of the student exchange program with AGU.
After the brief introduction of the program, the two sides signed the MoA of the program in order to officially implement it in mid-January 2022.
