On 3rd May 2019, An Giang University cooperated with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in holding a training workshop on “Writing Proposals for Research Projects”. The workshop attracted many students and lectures inside and outside An Giang University to attend.
The training workshop aimed to help candidates such as researchers and postgraduate students who are writing research proposals to meet international requirements succeed in applying for study abroad scholarships or attracting sponsorships from international organizations for scientific projects.
Speaking at the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Thang - Rector of An Giang University expressed his thanks to representatives of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for cooperating with the university in holding this workshop to enhance skills and experiences of writing sponsorship proposals, and he also expected that the cooperative relationship between the two sides will be promoted in the future.
At the workshop, delegates heard Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phong - a lecturer from Hoa Sen University share basic techniques to generate ideas to formulate research topics and instruct general rules of writing proposals such as choosing clear titles for research projects. Particularly, it was suggested that people had better introduce research ideas clearly, purposes of their projects, research instrumentation and expected results in a summary part. Besides, through a lecture and group work, the presenter assisted attendants gain experiences to avoid mistakes of writing proposals such as writing very long sentences and using abbreviations and to search for further information of appropriate sponsorship organizations for their proposals.
On the agenda of the workshop, attendants also heard Dr. Berndt Josef Tilp - the head of the DAAD Information Centre in Ho Chi Minh City and Mr. Tran The Binh - a consultant of DAAD introduce fields they can sponsor for candidates, universities in Germany, documents required for visa, learning conditions and fees at universities in Germany.
