An Giang University appointed 02 Associate Professors
On March 7, 2024, An Giang University, VNU-HCM, organized a ceremony to appoint Associate Professor title.
The event was attended by the Standing Party Committee, the Standing Council of the University, the University's President Board, the leaders of units, lecturers holding doctoral degrees, lecturers from the Faculty of Agriculture & Natural Resources and the Faculty of Information Technology.
During the ceremony, the University announced Decisions No. 294/QD-DHAG and No. 295/QD-DHAG dated February 26, 2024 on appointing Associate Professors of An Giang University to Dr. Doan Thanh Nghi, Head of the Faculty of Information Technology and Director of the Computer Center; and Dr. Bui Phan Thu Hang, Lecturer of the Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine Department, the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
Assoc. Prof. Doan Thanh Nghi is an expert in the field of Information Technology specializing in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Digital Image Recognition and Classification. He obtained his PhD at the University of Rennes 1 and he has been working at An Giang University since 1999.
Assoc. Prof. Bui Phan Thu Hang is an expert in the field of Animal Science, specializing in Nutrition and Animal Management. She obtained her PhD at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and has been working at An Giang University since 2005.
Assoc. Prof. Doan Thanh Nghi and Assoc. Prof. Bui Phan Thu Hang were recognized by the State Council for Professorship for Associate Professor titles in 2023 according to Decision No. 80/QD-HDCDGSNN dated November 20, 2023.
At the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Doan Thanh Nghi and Assoc. Prof. Bui Phan Thu Hang expressed profound gratitude for the university's care and facilitation as well as the colleagues' collaboration. They also pledged to strive even harder in teaching and scientific research to contribute to the development of An Giang University.
On behalf of the university leadership, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Thang, the President expressed joy and honor at the addition of two enthusiastic Associate Professors. The President hoped that the human resources of the university will continue to grow in order to fulfill its mission of education, scientific research, and community service effectively.
With 2 newly appointed Associate Professors, An Giang University currently has 08 Associate Professors out of 101 doctors.
