Closing Ceremony of the 2024 “Social Work and Public Health” Training Workshop
On May 31, 2024, An Giang University, VNU-HCM, organized the closing ceremony for the 18th international training workshop on "Social Work and Public Health."
The workshop is an annual event organized for many years in collaboration with An Giang University, West Virginia University (USA), and the Pacific Links Foundation
After 10 days of activities, the workshop attracted over 2,600 lecturers, students, and social workers from various Vietnamese universities participating both in-person and online.
The workshop covered 16 training topics on the application of knowledge, skills, and practical methods in social work and public health, presented by experts from Vietnam and the USA..
In his closing remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Võ Văn Thắng, President of An Giang University, praised the workshop's success and expressed gratitude to West Virginia University, the Pacific Links Foundation, lecturers, speakers, and interpreters, particularly Prof. Neal Newfield, Prof. Susan Newfield, and the US-based teachers. He acknowledged their efforts to overcome time zone challenges to contribute valuable knowledge. He appreciated the dedication shown over the past 17 years and hopes the workshop will continue to develop in the future.
