Online Meeting with University of Picardie Jules Verne (France)

An Giang University, VNU-HCM, in collaboration with University of Picardie Jules Verne (UPJV), Tra Vinh University, and Tien Giang University, recently held an online meeting to explore and develop future collaborative opportunities.

An Giang University's delegation included Professor Jean-Claude Laberche – a visiting professor from UPJV, along with the representatives of the leaders from the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the Faculty of Information Technology, and the staff from the Faculty of Foreign Languages and the External Relations Office.

UPJV was represented by Professor Emeritus Michèle Boitel-Conti, the Representative for UPJV/Mekong Delta Universities relations, along with the Heads of Partnerships and Strategic Projects, International Relations, the Biological Science department (IUT Amiens), the House of Languages (FFL Centre), and the Project Manager responsible for international cooperation outside the EU from the International Relations Department.

At the meeting, Professor Michèle Boitel-Conti provided an overview of UPJV and its existing collaborative programs with the participating universities. The information of UPJV's International Relations Office, the House of Languages, and international mobility programs, including student exchange initiatives and inter-university cooperation was also presented in the meeting.

The central topic of discussion was the preparation of Vietnamese students' foreign language skills for study programs in France. The international student exchange program, which accommodates various majors at the Bachelor's and Master's levels, requires participating students to possess a minimum French language proficiency of B1. They may study at UPJV for one to two semesters and will be assessed through standardized tests and individual interviews. The course evaluations from UPJV will be recognized towards their Vietnamese diplomas, and a certificate of course completion from UPJV may be issued.

The universities also proposed establishing a group of French language teachers from the three Vietnamese universities, in collaboration with the Maison des Langues (House of Languages) of UPJV, to jointly provide French language training for students. The parties discussed the possibility of finding Vietnamese students interested in the program and the appropriate time for students to participate in this exchange program in the near future.
