Welcoming to the Sorsogon State University, Philippines
On September 13, 2023, An Giang University, VNU-HCM, warmly welcomed and engaged in discussions with a delegation from Sorsogon State University, Philippines, with the aim of exploring and discussing potential collaboration opportunities.
Attending the working session from An Giang University were Asso. Prof. Vo Van Thang, the President, along with leaders from university departments.
From Sorsogon State University, the delegation included Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus, the President; Dr. Vivien L. Chua, Director of International Relations; Dr. Elena C. Demdam, Director of the Bulan Campus; Dr. Corazon G. Bongalosa, International Relations Coordinator for the Bulan Campus; and Mr. Jopet Vincent B. Medalla, a Faculty Member of the School of Information Technology and Communication.
During the meeting, both institutions provided an overview of their academic programs and their respective facilities. They also engaged in discussions regarding potential academic and cultural exchange programs. These discussions encompassed student exchanges and faculty exchanges across various fields such as Economics, Information Technology, Engineering, and Education.
Furthermore, the delegation from Sorsogon State University expressed their interest in curriculum development, student engagement methods, and faculty development initiatives at An Giang University. They had the opportunity to visit the physical facilities, study spaces, and technological resources available to students and faculty at the university.
In his remarks during the meeting, Asso. Prof. Vo Van Thang - the President, expressed his gratitude to Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus and the entire delegation for their visit. He underscored the significance of discussing potential programs and establishing the groundwork for a collaborative relationship between the two institutions. He expressed his optimism that this cooperation would continue to flourish and diversify across multiple academic domains, benefiting both the faculty and students of both universities.
On behalf of the delegation, Dr. Geraldine F. De Jesus extended her heartfelt gratitude to An Giang University for their warm reception. She hoped that through this meeting, both sides would better understand each other, paving the way for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the near future.

Recently, the Christina Noble Children's Foundation (CNCF) and the Consulate General of the United Kingdom in Ho Chi Minh City organized a scholarship award ceremony for Vietnam National University (VNU) students under the memorandum of cooperation between VNU and CNCF.
