On January 18, An Giang University held a ceremony to announce the decision of the President of VNU-HCM on the appointment of Dr. Ho Thanh Binh as Vice Rector.
Assoc.Prof. Dr. Huynh Thanh Dat - President of VNU-HCM delivered a congratulatory speech and expressed his confidence in that, with his professional experience in and deep understanding of AGU and with his management experience in different positions, Dr. Ho Thanh Binh will successfully complete the new tasks, contributing to the overall development of the University. The President also emphasized the tasks that AGU would have to perform in the coming time such as continuing to further improve the quality of training, scientific research and technology transfer, promoting the fostering and training managers, actively and deeply connecting with members of VNU-HCM system to develop its strength, successfully implementing the development strategy for the period of 2016-2020.
The new Vice Rector thanked the leaders and staff and expressed his determination to co-operate to promote the brand of AGU in the region and in the world.
Mr. Ho Thanh Binh, born in 1974, earned a PhD degree in Food Technology at the University of Queensland (Australia). He has been working at An Giang University since November 2000 and has held various positions, like Deputy Head of Department of Food Technology and then Deputy Head of Department of Agriculture - Natural Resources. Currently, Dr. Ho Thanh Binh is a Member of the Executive Board of the Party Committee of AG University, and Member of the National Assembly XIV (2016-2021).
At the ceremony, leaders of An Giang province, AGU and other units and organizations also presented flowers to congratulate the new Vice Rector Ho Thanh Binh.
