In order to strengthen the relationship with An Giang University, VNU-HCM, Ms Kristen Marie Arbolino - Co-Director of "Teachers for Vietnam" Organization (USA) just visited and worked with the University. Assoc. Tran Van Dat – Vice Rector of the University chaired the meeting.
“Teachers for Vietnam” is an American non-governmental organization that has provided native volunteers to teach English to AGU students for over 10 years. In the academic year 2019-2020, the University welcomed Mr. Jonah Pappas to come and work at the Faculty of Foreign Languages. Jonah is supporting the Faculty in teaching English to English Language students and English Teaching students. In addition, he will assist certain lecturers of the Faculty in adjusting lectures and giving advice of organizing activities for the English Speaking Club.



At the meeting, the two sides exchanged information about the teaching situation of volunteers at the University and suggested solutions to resolve certain related issues. Volunteer Jonah said that AG University had supported him a lot in the early days at the University and he felt very happy with living and working in An Giang.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Director Tran Van Dat thanked "Teachers for Vietnam" for helping improve English skills of AGU students, for promoting their understanding of American culture over the past time. He hoped that “Teachers for Vietnam” would continue to support and promote cooperation with the University in the future. In addition, he also cordially invited Ms. Kristen and the Organization's volunteers to come and meet with the University again in November 2019, on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of An Giang University.
