On the morning of September 23, the Board of Rectors of An Giang University, VNU-HCM, signed a memorandum of cooperation with RESTART – the Education and International Communications Joint-stock Company, in opening basic English courses and providing short-term scholarships for students of An Giang University.

Attending the meeting were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Thang – AGU’s Rector - and many lecturers who are leaders of faculties, departments and centers of the university. As for RESTART Education and International Communications Joint-stock Company, there came Mr. Nguyen Mai Lam – the General Director - as the head of the delegation and his assistants.


According to the signed Memorandum of Cooperation, the two sides will coordinate to open basic English courses for students of An Giang University. From these classes, the Organizing Committee of the program will select 12 excellent students and award them full scholarships to attend certain short-term courses in the Philippines. The basic English classes (8 classes/ semester as in the plan) will start from September 7, 2019 on Saturdays and Sundays of the week, at An Giang University. The program lasts for 12 weeks with a fee of 2.5 million VND/ course.

Speaking at the memorandum signing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Thang - Rector of AGU - thanked Mr. Nguyen Mai Lam as well as RESTART Education and International Communications Joint-stock Company for accompanying the University in training students through the program of short-term overseas study. He hoped that the two sides would coordinate to deploy more useful projects for students and expand more programs to the University's lecturers to strengthen the cooperation.

With the practical contents of the memorandum, the cooperative program between AGU and RESTART Education and International Communications Joint-stock Company aims to create more opportunities for further cooperation, enabling students to improve their foreign language skills, accumulate knowledge and sharpen skills through short-term overseas study programs. It is also known that in 2018 the program did grant 07 scholarships for AGU students to study in the Philippines.
