On November 19, 2019, An Giang University, VNU-HCM organized the International Scientific Conference "Higher education in the industrial revolution 4.0". This was one of the activities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment and development of the University.
The co-organizers of the Conference included Kalasin University, Assumption University, and Mahidol University (from Thailand) and Andalas University, Pekalongan University (from Indonesia).
Speaking at the Conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Thang - Rector of AGU - emphasized the impacts of globalization and the 4th industrial revolution on the education sector in general and the higher education system in particular. The presentations at this Conference would contribute to clarifying those impacts, addressing four main topics: Higher Education Administration and Management; Policies on training, scientific research and community service; Higher education environment and Quality assurance system; Program design, Teaching and learning methods, Testing and evaluation methods. The Organizing Committee hoped that the discussions at the conference would open up new research directions for delegates and attendants, in order to constantly improve the quality of higher education in in the industrial revolution 4.0.
The Organizing Committee received 86 articles from 124 authors from many national and international education institutions, 15 of which were selected and presented at the the conference. The conference was expected to lay the scientific foundations for recommendations to managers and policy makers in order to develop higher education in the country and in the region.
