On December 15, 2020, An Giang University Library held "Opening Ceremony of Innovation Space and Awarding the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2020".
The ceremony launched a green, creative, and friendly learning space with diverse learning facilities and equipment. At these spaces, students will be able to visit the exhibition grounds; to be instructed to make decorative products from recycled materials; to have access to the information about technology, technical profession, and creative ideas of the world to form and develop their creative capacity; to participate in activities and events to honor the reading culture and to be provided with useful and rich information sources.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice-Rector Ho Thanh Binh emphasized: The university attaches great importance to the space development at the Library because this is the center, the common space, and the convergence and development of innovation in academia. Initially, the school implemented a plan to build an area to develop English skills and creative capacities for learners to build the basic competencies that workers in the 21st century need. He hopes that the operation of the Innovation Space will help students of An Giang University become more and more confident and creative to become a quality human resource, serving the development of the country in general and the locality in particular.
Also at the ceremony, MSc Ngo Thi Kim Duyen - Library Director, Head of the Jury of An Giang University's Ambassador for Culture and Reading Contest gave a final speech to the contest. The contest also affirmed the position and the great role of reading culture in contributing to improving people's knowledge, developing thinking, creative ability, and promoting building a learning society.
During the launching time, students actively participated in the competition. As a result, 56 exams passed the Preliminary Round (including 54 articles and 01 videos of students, and 01 student's lesson). The Organizing Committee awarded certificates of merit and prizes to 9 contestants with excellent entries. In which, the first prize belonged to student Che Thi Ngoc Han - DH18NV.
