On June 24, at the TRIG project room - AGU, the signing ceremony of the discussion minutes was organized between VNU-HCM and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). The ceremony took place online.
The ceremony aimed to unify the contents of the project "Strengthening higher education in agriculture at VNU-HCM" between AGU and Seoul National University, VNU-HCM, and KOICA in Vietnam.
The project has been implemented for 7 years, aiming for some objectives. Firstly, the project is set a goal to improve the capacity of lecturers at VNU-HCM. Secondly, it enhances the quality of the curriculum of AGU. Lastly, the objective focuses on boosting the administration capacity, strengthen academic and industrial cooperation. KOICA Vietnam will sponsor more than 9 million USD for VNU-HCM, VNU-HCM as the governing and AGU is the project owner.
VNU-HCM Rector Vu Hai Quan stated that the agricultural sector needs to innovate in many aspects to contribute to economic growth through education and training. Therefore, human resource development is a critical issue in the current period. Cooperation with KOICA Vietnam, the project will improve the capacity of lecturers, teaching and learning programs, and train high-quality human resources for AGU. Therefore, it satisfies the requirements of development in the field of agriculture. Moreover, the project will expand international cooperation relations to connecting research and training with many prestigious universities, organizations, and enterprises of Korea.
Mr. Cho Han - Deog - Director of KOICA Vietnam, was delighted with signing the cooperation agreement with VNU-HCM. He believed that cooperation between the two sides would achieve high results, paving the way for long-term cooperation opportunities in the future.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Thang - President of AGU, said that the school has implemented high-quality training programs. Thus, financial aid, sharing of professional experience, learning successful lessons from the world, inparticular from Korea was vital for the university’s education. He also thanked KOICA Vietnam and VNU-HCM for their interest in investing in the school.
