On 23/05/2048, Faculty of Tourism, Arts, and Culture in collaboration with Office of External Affairs invited Prof. Detlef Briesen of Giessen University (Germany) for an information sharing session on “Human resource demands in Tourism industry in Germany”.
The workshop aimed to provide the lecturers of Faculty of Tourism, Arts, and Culture with information on human resource demands in international tourism industry, innovations in training programs in Tourism, and practical information about tourism in Europe, especially in Germany for the students of the faculty.
Attending the workshop were Dr. Chau Thi Da – Deputy Head of Office of External Affairs, Ms. Mai Thi Minh Thuy – Vice Dean of Faculty of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, lecturers of the Tourism and Culture Department and almost 100 students of Vietnamese Studies and Tourism majors.

At the workshop, the participants were introduced the tourism market in Europe and Germany including tourist landmarks, popular activities on vacations of German people, job opportunities in Tourism industry in Germany. According to Prof. Detlef, Germany is in need of human resource for Tourism industry with over 30 areas and insufficient young labour force. It was expected that An Giang University students would have opportunities to apply for jobs in Tourism in Europe and Germany specifically.

Prof. Detlef also addressed the concerns of the lecturers and students about supporting policies of German government for Vietnamese labour force, benefits and challenges when living and working in Germany. The workshop provided useful information for the students for their learning and job application to international tourist companies in the future.
