On January 15th, 2019, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Dat - Vice Rector and the representatives of departments and branches of An Giang province had a meeting to welcome the delegations of the Taiwan-Vietnam Economic Cultural & Educational Development Association.
At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Dat gave an overview of AGU. He emphasized the close cooperation relationship between the University and schools in Taiwan. The Vice Rector hoped to have more opportunities and orientations for cooperation in training development with the schools in Taiwan through the meeting.
The Association Dai Viet introduced activities in the Mekong Delta region. Specifically, the New Southern Policy has opened up opportunities to study abroad for students under the study-by-work program in Taiwan.
In addition, the Association also plays the role of a bridge for affiliated schools to carry out exchange programs for lecturers and students, and short-term internship programs with supporting policies from the Taiwanese government.
Ms. Ngo Pham Tran - General Secretary of the Association said that they usually cooperate with the locality to support international students in all aspects. She expected the representatives of the province and AGU to work in Taiwan in March 2019 so that the two sides can promote the signing of cooperation agreements in education and training.
On this occasion, the delegates suggested that the Association could cooperate with AGU in admission, opening a representative office to support studying abroad in An Giang, organizing short-term training programs on high-quality agriculture, organize short-term Chinese language training programs for international students, introducing schools for students of An Giang University to study abroad for a master's degree and practical internship programs in hotels and restaurants at some schools in Taiwan.
