To implement the project on “Assistance Policies on National Innovative Startup Ecosystem to 2025” (Project 844) of the Prime Minister, National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Development collaborated with An Giang Department of Science and Technology and An Giang University to organize the workshop on “Cooperation in building innovative startup ecosystem in the Mekong Delta”.
Attending the event were Mr. Pham Duc Nghiem - National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Development, Ms. Hoang Thi Thanh Thuy – Deputy Head of An Giang Department of Science and Technology, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai – Vice Rector of An Giang University and representatives from An Giang Departments, associations, institutions, colleges and universities in the Mekong Delta and the participation of over 200 delegates from innovative startup entrepreneurs and project teams.


Mr. Pham Duc Nghiem, in his Opening Speech, hoped that the workshop would enhance the connection among members in the innovative startup ecosystem in the Mekong Delta and the country as the foundation for startup development activities in local areas and transformation of startup ideas to entrepreneurs in the innovative startup ecosystem.

At the workshop, the participants were introduced the issues on innovative startups in the Mekong Delta such as Innovative Startups program in An Giang in 2018 – 2025 period, Innovative Startup Ecosystem and the roles of An Giang University in building the Innovative Startup Ecosystem, Intellectual Properties and entrepreneurs, Vietnam Silicon Valley Model, and Hi-tech agriculture.

The experts provided useful advice to help the students develop the brand-names, call for capital investments, and avoid risks in their projects. The experts also emphasized the significant roles of the State in developing a supportive innovative startup ecosystem.

The Organizing Committee also awarded the innovative projects, 4 of which would be presented at TECHFEST Vietnam 2018 in Da Nang in November. Notably, Dang Thi Phan – A lecturer of An Giang University won the First Prize.
