On May 11th 2018, An Giang University organised the workshop on “Teacher Education Models in Australia and ASEAN countries” presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Dat – Vice Rector of An Giang University.
The workshop was to provide teachers involved in curriculum and program development with useful information to review and modify learning outcome standards, full-time undergraduate programs responding to the demands of the society.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Dat presented the following topics: Competency framework for Australian teachers in the 21st century, Teacher education model in the 21st century of Singapore National Institute of Education (2009); Competency framework for ASEAN teachers (2010), and useful resources to review and modify learning outcome standards and curriculum of 34 undergraduate programs at An Giang University.
The workshop also brought a lot of issues into discussion, particularly Plan 270/KH-BGDDT dated 02/05/2018 of the Ministry of Education and Training on developing high school teachers’ competency for new high school textbooks and curriculum. This was seen as the basis for further curriculum modifications and application of the two Teacher Competency Frameworks in Australia and ASEAN in modifying learning outcome standards and curriculum at An Giang University.
