Last week, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Dat - the Vice Rector of An Giang University and heads of functional units had a meeting with Okayama University (Japan). The meeting aimed to practice contents in Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by the two universities on March 2018.
As for Okayama University, there came to the meeting were Prof. Dr. Tanjuro Goto - Deputy of Faculty of Environmental and Life Science, Ms. Yu Tsuha - Head of the coordinating board of the Okayama’s office in Ho Chi Minh City.


At the meeting, the two sides exchanged details of Sakura scholarships - a scientific exchange program between Japanese and other countries’ youngsters. Attending the program, candidates are sponsored a short-term trip (from 7 days to 10 days) to Japan to know more about science and engineering in universities, research institutes and private business. When chosen, candidates will be fully sponsored fees of two-way flight tickets, hotels, accommodation, transportation and living costs.
Representatives of Okayama University introduced of master’s scholarships and short-term training programs for lecturers and students.
On the agenda of the meeting, representatives of two universities also discussed exchanging chances of cooperating in fields of environment, agriculture, and culture.
On behalf of the university, Vice Rector Tran Van Dat expressed his thanks to Okayama University for their visit and hoped that cooperative relationship of the two sides is closely promoted.
